I’m excited to see that one of my shots is currently the first image you see when checking out The Dream Bed’s website.
A couple of months ago I was asked by Very to do the product shots for the Dream Bed’s launch (a new product line from Mattress Firm) and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
It was a fast moving campaign with a tight timeline. And in addition to the product shots, I was tasked with shooting a simple bedroom set. The budget was pretty much maxed out, so the plan was to use a blank, windowless wall set that Shelter Studios had laying around to save on costs. But I knew that setup wasn’t going to lend itself to great lighting. I did some last minute brainstorming with the production team on ways I could spice up the set for better lighting, but none of these options were ideal as they all would have added to the production cost.
Fortunately, we realized that a set built for The Dream Bed lifestyle shoot (going on at the same time) would not only be available during our tight schedule, but would also work perfectly for the room set and allow for better lighting. All we needed to do was flip a wall, flop the shot, and add the logo to the bed in post.
I love when creative problem solving results in better than expected results. Check out some screen caps below.
